From Filbert to MacArthur

​

 In February 2010, we were attending a church in West Oakland that dismantled and we found ourselves without a place of worship.  The first move may have been to logically search for another house of worship.  As a minister of the gospel, I heard the Spirit of God encourage us to be still and stay prayerful.  Within a couple of months, I was summoned to a meeting where a request was made of myself to lead a church that would remain in the West Oakland community. After meeting with the people and a time of prayer was observed, Westside Worship Center was born August 2010.

 

God allowed us to work in this region for 10 years.  We participated in community activities, supporting the After-School program for the community children, exercise programs provided for adults and children alike.  Additionally, we actively participated in the Mayor’s Annual Toy Give Away but most of all the ministering of the Gospel of Jesus Christ!  Westside worked until God begin to shift us as He prepared us to move into another region of the City.  In July of 2015 God transitioned us “From Filbert to MacArthur”, and we are still standing.  We are honored to be in this community.

The Lord has allowed Pastor Stewart to be tested and through this process continues the maturing of her faith in God. Pastor Stewart is anointed to preach and teach the word of God and will continue to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ so that men, women and children can be able to hear the word and come to repentance.
